The Fairline Squadron 58 is a 57-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge designed by the iconic British yacht-building firm Fairline that is set to debut at the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show. This model is actually the third yacht to bear the Squadron 58 name, and has a lot to live up to as the original launch from 2001 was dubbed “the greatest flybridge yacht of all time” by Motor Boat & Yachting magazine in 2004. Yet this new launch has more than a few tricks up its sleeve, including an innovative design crafted in collaboration with Salt Design that features a huge aft beach-club with fold-out bulwarks, masses of dynamic glazing, contemporary lounge seating and structural flares in a nod to the original design.
A sculptural hard-top with a retractable sunroof elegantly floats above the teak-lined flybridge for additional shade, though the aft is kept open in order to fit in a full-beam rear sunpad in Ultraleather flush up against a transparent glazed wall. Further forward up here you will encounter a U-shaped conversation sofa surrounding a pop-up table as well as a wet-bar station with chilled storage and a grill. A comprehensive upper helm station and a forward loveseat complete this elevated space’s chic offering.
There is room out on the foredeck for a wide Portuguese Bridge sofa and a cocktail table that sits across from a huge four-seater sunpad with an adjustable backrest, while a cavernous aft-cockpit to stern contributes to the beach-club atmosphere at the rear of the boat. Back here you will discover a bathing platform big enough to host a pair of sun-loungers and a transom wet-bar with a grill, while side steps lead up to a glazed transom wall, a U-shaped sofa and bar seating that connects to the internal galley. A further surprise can be found in the form of two fold-out bulwarks that transform into gravity-defying cocktail terraces that radically expand the usable space at this end of the yacht.
Upon advancing through sliding glass doors into the internal cockpit you will discover a walk-in aft-galley with a serving bar, marbled work surfaces, a four-zone hob, a fridge and a convection oven, while further forward there is a two-seater settee and a U-shaped sofa with a custom-built coffee table. Plush upholstery in a range of neutral tones, dark exotic woods, fluted metallic surfaces, lacquered accents, glazed panels and almost floor to ceiling glazing give the salon an ultra-contemporary yet restrained feel. A starboard side helm promises to host all the latest gadgets and navigational tech.
There are three cabins with expansive hull glazing and sedate surrounds on the lower deck, with two of the rooms boasting en suite facilities. A twin to starboard is joined by an en suite VIP double to the bow with side seating and a full-height closet, while the full-beam owner’s stateroom to aft features an angled sofa, a work desk, a huge closet and a bathroom lined in your choice of deluxe materials.
The Fairline Squadron 58 is set to be fitted with a pair of 1000hp Volvo Penta D13 shaft-drive diesel engines for top speeds of approximately 32 knots and consistent cruising speeds expected to hit around 27 knots.
