The Fairline Squadron 50 is a 51-foot luxury flybridge yacht launched by iconic British yacht-building firm Fairline in 2011. An ever-popular model that remains in production to this day, the new Squadron 50 benefits from a design upgrade in 2020 by iconic naval stylist Alberto Mancini that introduced vast new hull windows, updated engines and a contemporary interior, while retaining the sleek spirit of the original model.
An entirely open, low-slung flybridge lined in weatherproofed teak hosts a sultry and contemporary sun lounge where the entire family can congregate for lengthy lunches and starlit evening meals. A rear L-shaped sofa has been paired with a varnished teak dining table that sits alongside a wet-bar console with a sink, chilled storage and an outdoor grill, while further forward you will find an upper helm station with twin leather piloting chairs and a loveseat.
On the main deck there is a double-width sunpad with marina-facing views out on the foredeck, while the sheltered aft-cockpit impresses with a comfortable transom sofa with cushioned backrests and four integrated cup-holders. To stern there is a full-beam, hydraulic bathing platform that can be used to store a jet-ski or set off on snorkeling trips to crystal-clear waters.
Stepping indoors you will find a sedate salon lined in dark exotic wood with climate-control, Fusion Apollo stereo speakers and an open galley to starboard with a two-zone ceramic hob, a sparkling white Solid Surface work surfaces, a combination microwave, under-counter refrigeration, a sink with a mixer tap and plenty of storage. To port there is a comfortable sofa in white leather or your choice of upholstery that surrounds an extending breakfast table, while further forward there is an L-shaped sofa with a fold-out dinette table. The starboard side main helm boasts all the latest gadgets needed for high-octane cruising, including an IPS joystick, a Garmin GMI 20 display screen, autopilot, VHF radio, a magnetic compass and digital engine display, not to mention bow thruster and trim tab controls.
If buyers wish to create a more open feel on the main-deck then they can situate the galley on the lower-deck instead, and pair it with a lower dinette lounge ideal for breakfasts. Alternatively, you can enjoy an extra cabin with twin bunk beds down here to bring the overnight capacity to six. A scissor twin berth with en-suite facilities sits towards the bow and features a skylight, hull glazing and a full-height closet, while the full-beam owner’s stateroom is placed aft. This impressive cabin has enough room for a queen-sized island bed with cushioned headboards and bedside cabinets, as well as a side sofa, a work desk or formal cabinet unit, a full-height closet and a bathroom lined in marble-effect solid surfaces with timber floors and an entirely enclosed shower stall.
Buyers can choose between two engine options to fire this yacht to competitive high speeds, with the top of the range items a twin set of Volvo Penta IPS700 D8-550 diesel shaft-drives that max out at just over 32 knots. A fuel tank holding 346 US Gallons will keep you island-hopping for days on end, while a deep-V hull with a category B rating has been precision engineered to easily negotiate coastal swells.
