The Cruisers 48 Cantius is a 48-foot express cruiser yacht produced by Wisconsin’s renowned boat-building firm Cruisers Yachts from 2010 to 2018. A classic sleek profile with a sharp, assertive entry, angular lines and broad glazing hides a revolutionary new split-level salon on this vessel, while outdoor spaces have been designed with sun-loving guests in mind. Add innovative new IPS engines and a proprietary fiberglass hull built for speed and agility and it becomes clear why this is one of the most popular Cruisers vessels ever made.
High guardrails line the fore and side-decks for an added sense of security when making your way out to a sunpad with a pop-up headrest out on the foredeck. To stern, meanwhile, there is a teak-lined, Latham Marine hydraulic bathing platform, capable of lifting a tender, and side-steps up to an aft-deck with a transom sofa, a pop-up table, an extending sunshade and wet-bar facilities like a Vitrifrigo fridge, a sink and a Kuuma outdoor grill. You will also find plenty of hidden storage back here, perfect for keeping your watersports equipment secure.
Head through a set of sliding glass doors into a lavish main-deck salon lined in authentic walnut with wengewood cabinetry, a teak and holly striped sole, wrap-around windows, a glazed sunroof and an electronically-actuated pop-up HDTV. There is a wet-bar to starboard and a huge L-shaped sofa with a table to port, while further forward you will discover a beautiful, polished timber helm with silver accents. This modern dashboard comes with a leather-lined steering wheel, Penta joystick handling, Volvo EVC feedback, Raymarine display screens, a Ritchie compass, hand-held VHF radio and throttles, not to mention immense visibility.
A set of steps and a wide, atrium-style opening connect upper and lower salons, giving this yacht the feel of a Manhattan loft apartment. There is a leather-lined sofa and a grain-matched timber dining table down here, directly across from an open galley boasting appliances like a Cuisinart combination microwave, a EuroKera hob, a fridge-freezer tower, a double sink, solid white countertops and masses of storage. A huge master stateroom to aft comes with a queen-sized island bed, ample storage, plush carpeting, horizontal hull glazing, recessed mood lighting and a semi-open en-suite bathroom with a vanity station and an enclosed waterfall shower cubicle. The VIP stateroom to the bow is almost as impressive, and comes with a queen bed, a skylight, cedar-lined closets and a split head with toilet and sink facilities across from a shower unit.
Expect to fire the 48 Cantius to top speeds of around 34 knots thanks to a pair of 435hp Volvo Penta IPS600 diesel pod-drives. Cruising speeds, meanwhile, clock in at 25 knots with a range of 315 nautical miles. Take things a little slower and cruise along at an economy pace of 6.5 knots, however, and this range dramatically expands to approximately 1,500 nautical miles, making this yacht a great option for lazy rides down the Florida Keys.
