The Cruisers 4450 Express is a 45-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge produced by celebrated Wisconsin-based yacht-building company Cruisers between 2000 and 2003. Blending a traditional sleek form with a sharp entry and a more innovative approach to outdoor living to aft, this vintage model is still one of the most interesting and stylish Cruisers models around on the used and charter markets. Split-level space across the yacht’s three decks is joined by a proprietary hull tailor-made for coastal cruising and a set of still-powerful engines.
Out on the foredeck there are two full-length sunpads designed for soaking up the rays during those hot summer months, while a more shaded retreat sits to aft. The cockpit on this model flows seamlessly into the flybridge, making for one huge, elevated living space with commanding views out to sea. Back here you will encounter a chunky wet-bar station with a sink, an outdoor grill, an ice-chipper, chilled storage and a set of four integrated cup-holders, while to starboard there is a U-shaped sofa, an aft-facing loveseat and an oval table ready to host your meals and drinks. This area is covered by a hard-top, while an all-weather covering with side-exits is ready to shield you from any adverse conditions. A few steps up take you to the bridge, where wrap-around glazing protects a chaise-longue and a triple-width helm seat with armrests from spray. Take the steps down to the main-deck salon where you will be welcomed by a space lined in veneered cherrywood with a teak and holly sole and furnishings in plush cream Ultraleather. Rounded cabinetry, an L-shaped sofa with a coffee table, a dining booth with a Hi-Lo table and two twin seats, recessed lighting and a home entertainment system give this sedate space a classy and at-home feel. A walk-in galley, meanwhile, features granite countertops, a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher, two stainless steel sinks, a GE microwave oven, a Norcold fridge-freezer unit and a multi-zone hob.
Instead of the usual single lower-deck space this yacht boasts two separate en-suite staterooms each accessed via a private staircase for an unparalleled sense of seclusion. A master stateroom to aft includes a queen-sized bed, a vanity station, two full-height, cedar-lined closets and a bathroom lined in mosaic-tiles with mirrored cabinets, a whirlpool tub, a shower and a linen closet. A VIP stateroom to the bow boasts a skylight, a double island bed and a bathroom with a large shower cubicle, while an adaptable space to starboard on this level can be used for storage or turned into a twin cabin.
Powered by twin Volvo TAMD 74EDC 480HP diesel engines, you can expect top speeds to edge over the 30-knot mark and cruising speeds of around 20 knots. At an 8-knot economy cruise you will enjoy a fuel-efficient ride of around 4.5 gph, while a 500-gallon fuel tank should keep you out on the water all week.
