The Carver 65 Marquis is a 69-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was produced by the award-winning Wisconsin-based firm Carver Yachts between the years of 2004 and 2008. Crafted in partnership with Italian naval stylists Nuvolari & Lenard, this yacht bears a super-sleek European look with cresting-wave side glazing, a swept-back profile, a sharp entry and achingly modern curves throughout. Interiors, meanwhile, are elegant and understated, with a comfortable North American vibe and a real sense of spaciousness. A hot ticket on the used and charter markets to this day, the 65 Marquis features a solid fiberglass hull and swift engines that make it a competitive and reliable performer out on the open water.
Available as either an al-fresco space or covered by a floating hard-top, the expansive bridge is the best place to soak up the views and relax. A vast C-shaped white leather sofa to aft surrounds a bespoke dining table, while to port there is a walk-in cocktail bar with a serving platform, bar-stools, a grill, an ice-chipper, a sink and chilled storage. Up front there is a side seat and a trio of comfortable piloting chairs facing a helm station with hydraulic power-steering, bow and stern thruster controls, CCTV feedback, trim-tab switches, touch-screens from Garmin or Raymarine, VHF radio and a high-speed mounted compass. To the very rear of the bridge there is a tender storage space that can also be used for sun-loungers.
Head down one level to find two sunpads lined in piped upholstery out on the foredeck, while in the shaded aft-cockpit there is a table, a transom sofa and side steps down to a full-beam hydraulic bathing platform. Heading into the main-deck salon via curved set of sliding glass doors you will encounter sophisticated cherrywood surrounds with pommele sapel accents, steel fixtures, grain-matched burlwood highlights, plush carpeting and a breezy layout with plenty of natural light via the curved side windows. A U-shaped lounge sofa for up to five and a pair of armchairs, all in beige Ultraleather, surround a custom-built coffee table, while further forward there is a formal dining table standing across from a walk-in galley. This kitchen features a timber sole, genuine granite countertops, a GE multi-zone ceramic hob, a combination oven, a Miele dishwasher, Jenn-Aire refrigeration, a steel sink and hand-crafted cabinets. A slightly raised pilot-house sits at the front of the main-deck, and features a wrap-around dining sofa with a table as well as a climate-controlled enclosed helm station for all-weather piloting.
Spacious lower-deck retreats for up to six overnight guests feature a lavish finish and a subdued atmosphere, perfect for a great night’s rest. A twin cabin to port boasts its own en-suite facilities, while a VIP cabin with a skylight, a queen bed, two cedar-lined lockers and a dedicated en-suite with a shower is located by the bow. A full-beam master stateroom is located amidship and presents room for a king-sized island bed, bedside cabinets, two walk-in closets, a work-desk or cabinets alongside a twin sofa and a huge bathroom lined in granite, high-gloss timber and steel with a bath-tub, a vanity mirror and a flush toilet.
There are a range of high-powered engine options available for this model, including twin 715HP Volvo Penta D12 diesels that come as standard. Top of the range upgrades include a pair of 1480HP MTU 12v 2000 M91 inboards or two 1521HP Caterpillar C3B turbo engines for top speeds in excess of 33 knots and a cruising speed of around 27 knots. Crafted for the long-haul, this vessel features a mammoth 1200-gallon fuel tank that will help keep you voyaging for days without end.
