The Carver 450 Voyager is a 46-foot luxury flybridge yacht produced by award-winning Wisconsin-based yacht-building company Carver Yachts between 1999 and 2008. Though this yacht may look sleek and sporty, with an aerodynamic European-style that would not look out of place in Monte Carlo Marina, this is a hefty piece of nautical engineering. A beam of over 14-foot provides plenty of North American-style space to relax, with sun-kissed outdoor lounges and sophisticated interiors setting the scene for island-hopping trips with the entire family.
Though the bridge is open air it features a wrap-around Bimini cover that can be assembled in mere minutes for all-weather piloting up here. To the rear of the bridge there’s a tender storage space with an integrated davit, while step forward to encounter a curving white leather sofa and a love-seat that surround an oval dining table. Also on offer up here is a chunky wet-bar station with a sink, chilled storage, an optional ice-chipper and an outdoor grill. Up front there are two piloting seats facing an ergonomic helm station with a bronze-effect non-glare finish, power-assisted steering, bow thruster controls, VHF radio, a mounted Ritchie compass, a pair of Raymarine display screens, Volvo engine feedback and a Navman depth sounder.
A double-width sunpad in deluxe piped upholstery sits out on the foredeck, while in the partially shaded aft-deck you will enjoy lounging on a transom sofa or heading out through the transom gate to a fixed, full-beam bathing platform with a swim ladder and a Besenzoni passerelle. Full-height sliding glass doors lead into a sedate main-deck salon with plenty of natural light and a unique layout with a plethora of hand-crafted curves. There is panelling and surfaces in high-gloss cherrywood and plush carpeting underfoot as well as a twin settee and an L-shaped sofa in comfortable Ultraleather, while further forward there is a rounded Cognac bar with a sink and a walk-in galley to port. This kitchen features granite-effect countertops, a two-zone Ceran hob, a combination oven, Vitrifrigo fridge-freezer units, a coffee-maker and a steel sink. At the front of the main-deck there is an elevated pilothouse with a dining sofa and a second set of helm controls for climate-controlled command of your vessel.
A set of curving steps with an atrium-style opening overhead lead down to a spacious lower-deck with a pair of en-suite staterooms as well as a compact twin berth for the kids. A double cabin to the bow boasts a skylight, a queen-sized bed, a cedar-lined locker and a bathroom, while the master room sits to starboard. In here you will find another queen-sized island bed, full-height lockers, oval portholes, bedside cabinets and a bathroom with an enclosed shower cubicle.
Powered by twin 430HP Cummins 450C diesel engines or a pair of 430HP Volvo TAMD 73C shaft-drives, you can expect top speeds of up to 25 knots and cruising speeds settling in at around 19 knots. Thanks to a fuel tank holding 483 gallons and an efficient hull you can expect to stay out on the water for days on end while riding this yacht. The solid fiberglass planing hull features relatively flat forward sections and a 20-degree deadrise to help pound oncoming waves, provide plenty of stability and a deliver dry ride for all on board.
