The Carver 410 Sport Sedan is a 46-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was produced by award-winning Wisconsin-based boat-building company Carver Yachts between 2002 and 2004. Teardrop glazing, a sharp entry, a swooping radar arch to aft and an unmistakable vintage style keep this yacht looking sporty and slick more than two decades after it was originally launched. Carver is a brand known for the generous dimensions of their living spaces and this classy yacht does not disappoint, while a rugged hull and still competitive engines make this vessel a dream to ride.
Two stylish, single-seater sunpads have been laid out on the foredeck, but your best bet for working on the summer tan is to head up to the flybridge. This entirely open-air space features a plush L-shaped sofa surrounding a cocktail table, along with a wet-bar station boasting a sink, chilled storage and an optional outdoor grill. There’s also a trio of helm seats up here, facing a full-beam helm station with room for multi-function display screens, a Raymarine chart-plotter, hand-held VHF radio, a mounted compass, old-school analogue gauges and a power-assisted steering wheel. Down in the cockpit you will find a non-slip space with room for a table and seats, though this area can also be used as a fishing cockpit with a transom livewell, in-sole storage and a pair of sports lockers. A transom gate leads out to a fixed, full-beam bathing platform with a telescoping swim ladder, perfect for summer swims with the kids.
Curved sliding glass doors open up to reveal a cavernous main-deck salon with a striped teak and holly sole and surfaces in high-gloss cherrywood. In here you can expect a wrap-around white leather sofa facing an open galley with hand-crafted cabinets, black granite-effect counter tops, a steel sink, a combination microwave, a multi-zone Ceran hob and a full-height Nova Kool fridge-freezer tower. A few steps up lead to a stunning mezzanine level at the front of the main-deck with startling views out of mullioned windows and a vast U-shaped sofa that surrounds a lacquered timber dining table.
Down on the lower-deck there is overnight sleeping quarters for up to four guests, with a room to aft boasting a double bed that can also be used as a pair of twins or even as a day bed, along with a love-seat and hanging lockers. The master stateroom sits by the bow and features a bookcase, oval porthole windows, a skylight, a queen-sized island bed and plenty of cedar-lined storage. There are two fully equipped heads on this level, with bathroom units featuring shower cubicles, flush toilets and molded sinks.
Choose between gasoline or diesel propulsion to power your 410 Sport Sedan, with engine options ranging from a pair of 370HP Mercruiser 8.1S Horizon gas-powered inboards as standard, a twin-set of Crusader gasoline engines or two 370HP Volvo Penta TAMD63P diesels. Top speeds should edge over the 28-knot mark, while cruising speeds settle into a comfortable and swift 24 knot pace. A 400-gallon fuel tank should keep you out on the water for days on end, with a 250 nautical mile range on offer, while a fiberglass modified-V hull will stand up to coastal swells with ease.
