The Bertram 60 Convertible is a 60-foot convertible sportfishing yacht that was produced by iconic Florida-based boat-building firm Bertram Yachts between 1996 and 2002. A classic of the multi-purpose category, this vessel impresses with a vintage style that still turns heads to this day, boasting a sleek, streamlined profile with straight lines, cutaway bulwarks and a fearsome, flared bow entry. Space in the cockpit, room on the foredeck and an elevated area on the bridge are equally well-suited to tournament fishing or open-air relaxation, while interiors can accommodate the entire family in the lap of sheer comfort.
Topped by either a bespoke tuna tower or a vast flybridge, you will enjoy elevated piloting on this vessel at a raised helm with a pair of piloting seats, Furuno Navnet, Garmin GPS, ICOM VHF radio, Simrad autopilot, ZF throttles, trim-tab controls and power-assisted steering. Ahead of the helm there is room for a lounge with U-shaped, upholstered seating that wraps around a varnished teak table, while an all-weather covering can be fitted for those cruising in inclement conditions.
The spacious cockpit has been fine-tuned around the competitive fishing experience, and features amenities like a transom livewell, in-sole fish boxes, a chill-box, a transom lift-gate, flush rod holders, Glendinning Cablemasters, fresh and raw water wash-down hoses, rocket launchers, a tackle station with an Eskimo ice-chipper and room for a fighting chair. If you prefer to use this space to stern for relaxation then there is also an outdoor Miele grill, room for a table in lieu of the fighting chair, an optional swim-platform, integrated stereo speakers and a set of chairs. The cockpit is self-draining and can be lined in your choice of authentic teak or non-slip fiberglass.
Heading indoors you will encounter a salon lined in light oak with a teak and holly sole, wide side glazing and plush sofas lined in piped upholstery for a traditional and welcoming vibe. There is an L-shaped sofa surrounding a hand-crafted coffee table to aft, while a U-shaped dining sofa surrounding a large table sits further forward. Across from this is a walk-in galley with granite-effect Corian work surfaces, a combination oven, a GE fridge-freezer, a four-zone hob, garbage disposal and a stainless steel sink, not to mention plenty of cabinet space. Belowdecks you will find sleeping quarters for up to eight overnight guests, across a pair of en-suite staterooms and two twin or bunk berths that share a bathroom. The two staterooms boast queen-sized beds, timber-lined storage, room for bedside cabinets and bathrooms lined in pale timber with granite surfaces and enclosed shower stalls.
Powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3412E diesel engines, you can expect top speeds of approximately 34 knots and smooth cruising speeds clocking in at around 27 knots. A 1630 gallon fuel tank, meanwhile, will keep you out on the water all week as you home in on that elusive Marlin.
