The Back Cove 37 is a 40-foot Downeast-style cruiser that was produced by acclaimed yacht firm Back Cove between 2009 and 2020. Back Cove Yachts produced more than 200 of these models for discerning clients around the globe during the production run, with this vessel’s heritage charm, timeless looks, traditional white and navy blue livery and superb rugged build-quality particularly prized. The ideal long-distance cruiser thanks to its powerful engine, 300 gallon fuel tank, solid category-B hull and wealth of deluxe amenities, the 37 differs from sister yacht the Downeast 37 by providing a larger, enclosed salon on the main-deck and an extra overnight cabin on the reconfigured lower-deck.
You can enjoy angling out on the foredeck, or trace the high steel guardrails and teak brightwork back to the self-draining, teak-lined aft-deck, where opportunities for rest and relaxation abound. Back here you can expect a pair of L-shaped transom sofas in a sedate striped nautical theme with plush cushioned backrests, as well as a central transom gate leading out to a full-beam swim platform and a custom-crafted flag-pole. Full-height glazed doors lead into a climate-controlled salon with 360-degrees of wrap-around glazing, an above-helm skylight, teak laminate surfaces, cherry surrounds and a hand-built dining table lined in maple inlay. To port there’s a twin love-seat while surrounding the dining table is an L-shaped sofa, both in sophisticated leather-effect upholstery designed for comfort and style. Also in here, on a slightly sunken level, is an open galley with solid countertops, a two-zone hob, a hidden steel sink, a microwave oven and an under-counter refrigeration unit. Across from the galley sit two Llebroc swivel seats facing a helm with a Stazo timber-lined, power-assisted steering wheel, room for a pair of large Raymarine touch-screen devices, an illuminated compass, trim-tab switches, a Side Power thruster joystick, VHF radio, and a Fusion stereo system linked to the yacht’s integrated speakers.
Head below-deck to discover sedate surrounds for up to four overnight guests, with a port-side bathroom boasting an enclosed shower stall with a bench-seat, a flush toilet and a molded sink. To starboard there is a snug and cozy double cabin, while situated by the bow there is a breezy double cabin with a skylight, a queen-bed and plenty of timber-lined storage.
