Welcome to a world of luxury cruising wrapped in the power and performance of a true express cruiser. With a modified deep-V hull designed by the legendary C. Raymond Hunt Associates, the 54SX boasts an incredibly smooth, quiet ride. With CAT 3406E 800 HP Engines, the 54SX is quick to plane and reach cruising speeds up to 27 knots, going full throttle at 30. Inside, the beautifully crafted teak furnishings, gracious layout and light-filled spaces exemplify the Grand Banks quality tradition at every turn.
Orion has a 3 Stateroom layout with 2 heads with stall showers (new grout and tile in 2012). Aft of the chain lockers is the master stateroom, with a centerline queen berth, custom Zeno Pure Ultra mattress (new 2013) with drawer storage beneath, and private ensuite head aft to port with a mansized stall shower. Also included are (2) cedar-lined hanging lockers, (2) DC halogen reading lights, digital TV, full size dressing mirror, and great natural light via a hatch above and 2 opening portlights.
Aft of the master to port is one of the two guest cabins, featuring side by side single athwartship berths. The Twin Cabin has drawer storage, (2) DC halogen reading lights, Lee clothes 2 opening portlights and a cedar lined closet. Across from the guest cabin on starboard side is the second private head with stall shower which can be used as a day head.
Opposite the U-shaped galley and aft of second head is the third stateroom featuring a single berth. The 3rd Stateroom has generous storage and a Splendid 2011 washer/dryer (new 2013).
Up from of the galley is the salon and helm deck, customized for relaxing and entertaining while at anchor or underway. There are 2 leather electric double Stidd bench seats for helms person and navigator. The L-shaped lounge with hi-lo teak and holly dropleaf dining/cocktail table is found to port. Opposite to starboard is entertainment center featuring pop-up Sony Wega TV and two barrel chairs (recovered in 2015) providing comfortable accommodations with overhead hatches and opening side windows. Two large glass doors provide the entrance to and from the cockpit and provide for a wonderful transition bringing the outside into the salon.
The Eastbay 54 SX provides a wonderful layout at the helm with 360 degree visibility for the captain. "Orion" features a very comfortable, double electric leather Stidd helm chair with all ship system controls and gauges within reach.
The AC/DC electrical panel is located on the starboard side of the companionway just inboard of the helm station. Complete access and control of both AC and DC onboard systems is provided here with a full breaker panel as well as dockside shorepower and generator control.
