Established in 1969 by husband-and-wife team Paul and Carol Kuck, Regal Boats is one of the biggest family-owned boat builders in the world. Famed for their innovative approach to yacht design, expert craftsmanship, and a strong, faith and family-centered ethos, Regal has sold more than 75,000 of their yachts over the last fifty-odd years. Still owned by the Kuck family to this day, and operating out of Orlando, Florida, Regal Boats now produces high-quality vessels ranging from 19 to 42 feet in length, including outboard bowriders, express cruisers, runabouts, surfing yachts and speedy day boats.
Paul and Carol Kuck’s boat building dream didn’t initially get off to the best of starts. Just four years after the married couple founded Regal Yachts in 1969 the Oil Crisis of 1973 wreaked havoc on the yacht building industry. The pair lost most of their original investment, and many other firms in the boat building industry ended up closing their doors for good. Yet the Kucks were made of stern stuff, and decided to fight for their dream. Sustained by their strong religious faith, and backed up with hard work and a passion for innovation, Regal Boats emerged from the crisis looking healthier than ever. In 1976, just three years later, the company opened their first overseas sales room in Austria, ensuring access to the lucrative European market.
Much of this early success was due to the high quality of their first boats, sporty models ranging in size from 14 to 21 foot. These models sold so well that by 1986 the company was debt-free and self-financed, a fact that remains true to this day. In 1995 the company began to introduce their next generation of yachts, all built with a proprietary FasTrac hull. These hulls are engineered with a full-beam step to reduce drag and friction, an innovation that was recognised for its brilliance just a year later when Regal Boats won the 1996 IMTEC Innovation Award.
After the deaths of Carol and Paul in 2005, Regal Boats were succeeded by the second and third generations of the Kuck family, who led the firm to a significant expansion just a few years later. In 2008 Regal opened their new factory in Valdosta, Georgia, a 150,000 square foot facility equipped with the very latest in cutting edge design and engineering equipment. Today the company employs over 780 staff across the Valdosta site and their even bigger Orlando boatyard and headquarters. Regal’s 50 year anniversary in 2019 saw the firm sell a record 2200 boats and the launch of five new models. Boats now on offer by Regal include everything from 42-foot luxury yachts capable of sea cruising, to 19-foot speedboats perfect for exploring the Florida backwaters.
In addition to their market-leading luxury boats, Regal is also well known for the family feel to their company, which is currently led by Duane, Tim and Pam Kuck. Members of staff here are considered to be part of one extended family and are given exceptional benefits such as complimentary vacations. It’s no wonder, then, that they frequently go the extra mile for customers. In fact, Regal has been awarded an incredible 46 CSI awards from the National Marine Manufacturers Association for the outstanding level of their renowned customer service.

At almost 40 feet in length with a beam of over 11 feet there is plenty of room to host parties on this yacht, with two lounge sofas located on the aft deck and four captain seats at the helm. The expansive aft deck can also double as the ideal fishing space, with built-in equipment storage optional. Side entry doors to port and starboard allow for easy access to the water for swimming, perfect for those who have children. A modular relaxation space on the bow rounds out the entertaining space on this versatile vessel. Below deck there is a spacious V-berth and two other spaces that can be used to accommodate a total overnight occupancy of 4. Triple outboard Yamaha engines and a gas Westerbeke generator can fire this vessel to top speeds of 45 knots while a Seakeeper 3 stabilization system ensures a smooth ride.
Regal 42 Fly Sportyacht
A sleek and stylish yacht, Regal describes this as a “memory-making machine,” and it’s not hard to see why. A large, open flybridge tops this spectacular vessel, allowing for both open air piloting and relaxing with an elevated view of the surroundings. One level down and you will find a free-flowing space that combines a generously proportioned main-deck salon and aft patio furnished with Herringbone fabrics and a floor of rum-toned maple wood. Below deck there is a master stateroom to the bow with a double bed, while the aft stateroom has space for two further guests. Twin Volvo D6 diesel engines provide up to 860 horsepower and a top speed of over 35 knots.
Regal 33 Express
A sport all-purpose cruiser ideal for day trips and long weekends on the water, the 33 Express is one of Regal’s most popular models. 33 feet in length, this vessel boasts a semi-sheltered helm station and aft deck space with plenty of seating, and an extra-large swimming platform to the rear that also doubles as dinghy storage. Below deck there are some surprises, with space for a dinette and lounge, along with a king-sized stateroom and bow berth. Owner-operators will love piloting this stylish yacht, with power assisted steering, bow thrusters and trim tabs making this a reliable, nimble and responsive boat in a range of maritime environments.
Regal LS2 Surf
The LS2 Surf is built with one thing in mind: water sports. Equipped with a Regal Surf System that combines Wake Worx wave shaping tabs, 1,800 pounds of ballast, and a Volvo Forward Drive for safety, owners can wakeboard and wind surf to their heart’s content. Edge to edge seating in the cockpit allows plenty of space for guests, while the transom doubles as a social space with rumble style seating.
