About Hunt Yachts

Founded by legendary racing sailor and self-taught designer C. Raymond Hunt, Rhode Island-based Hunt Yachts possesses a deep and intuitive knowledge of yacht design. With a distinguished portfolio ranging from the Concordia yawl to the Ocean 76, Hunt offers innovative, high-performance semi-custom yachts and powerboats characterized by their innovative deep-V hull design and distinct New England style.

More About Hunt Yachts

Hunt Yachts’ heritage began with New England’s premier marine innovator, C. Raymond “Ray” Hunt, in 1961. Hunt was himself a brilliant competitive sailor, having won the 1925 Sears Cup when he was just 15. Hunt, sometimes called the ‘New England Archimedes,’ was an entirely self-taught yacht designer, led by his intimate, enthusiastic boat knowledge and brilliant instinct. By the late 1930s, Hunt drew up plans for the first Concordia yawls and was experimenting plywood, a new material at the time. By 1953, Hunt was a well-respected designer in the yacht industry; and when he and his family raced their own Concordia 41 at Cowes Week in England just a few years later, Hunt’s reputation continued to skyrocket.

In 1963, Hunt developed the deep-V hull design that sets Hunt Yachts apart. The deep-V hull, a high deadrise hull, has a sharp forward entry and a more streamlined forefoot, allowing the boat to cut through rough waters at speed and with maximum maneuverability which revolutionized the motoryacht industry.

It was around this time that Hunt created the original Boston Whaler, perhaps the most popular recreational boat known to man. The 13-foot whaler, with its deep-V hull, was eminently stable, had an inimitable load-carrying capacity – but it was a superbly high-performance boat, capable of handling the rough weather conditions of New England waters at maximum speed.

Hunt’s impact on the marine industry cannot be overstated: from the celebrated Boston Whaler to US Navy patrol boats – Hunt improved the destroyer hull for the US Navy – his influence is perceptible and far-reaching. Though Hunt died in 1978 and his company was acquired in 2013 by Scout Partners, his legend lives on in contemporary offerings such as the Ocean 76, a smooth-riding, luxurious flybridge yacht, and the Surfhunter 32, a 32-foot poweryacht based on one of Hunt’s original designs.

32 CC
Part of Hunt’s Coastal Series, the 32 Center Console was made for enjoying and engaging with the sea. Perfect for fishing, wakeboarding, or simply enjoying a summer jaunt with your friends and family, the 32 CC is a small but perfectly formed daytripping machine. One of the more notable features of this vessel is the unique and family-friendly aft-facing walk-in companionway configuration that is exceptionally conducive to little ones running around in safety. The aft-facing helm and cockpit ensure easy communication with your below-deck guests. A 30-gallon livewell in the transom, rodholders beneath the gunwale, and secure under-seat rod storage make the 32 CC ideal for fishermen, amateur and enthusiast alike.

Once you’ve reeled in your catch, you can take a nap on the single daybed located forward of the extended console. What the 32 CC lacks in sleeping accommodation it more than makes up for in lounge space, accommodating up to 8. The integral swim platform is also perfect for swimming and watersports. Two showers – a transom and a stand-up shower below deck – allow you and your guests to spruce yourselves up after a long day of sun-soaked leisure. Twin 250 HP outboard Yamaha or Mercury Yanmar Diesel IO engines provide a cruising speed of 30 knots and top speed of 44 knots. The 32 CC is all about good, plain fun in safety and comfort. And who doesn’t want that?

Alternating between warm, polished wood and more natural wood accents and a serene, nautical light blue exterior, this yacht will appeal to anyone with a timeless, chic sense of style. Add to this the stable, secure navigability of the vessel and it is hard not to feel an instant sense of calm when you step aboard.
