HCB Yachts (formerly Hydra-Sports Custom) have been building spacious, durable, and eminently fishable fishing and center console yachts since 1972. Originally based in Tennessee, HCB has expanded to include annex locations across the country to better service its expansive customer base. Originally founded by Joe Reese, the company is now operated by Elias De La Torre III, who has taken Reese’s vision to the next level by developing new world-class models that combine sportfishing yachts and center console yachts, offering the best of both worlds: supremely outfitted for the discerning fisherman but replete with space, comfort, and luxury style. With 140 steps from construction to ownership, HCB meticulously and lovingly builds every yacht to your exact expectations.
Founded by avid Tennessee fisherman Joe Reese in 1972, HCB Yachts got its start building affordable, high-performance bass boats for fisherman. Reese, originally a mason by trade, quickly grew a reputation for designing pioneering boats that met and surpassed the requirements of a fishing boat. Though no longer in production, HCB’s bass boats are still coveted for their size, reliability, and seaworthiness. Reese sold the company in 1976, but stayed on as a consultant, ensuring that the company stayed true to his original mission of innovation, durability, and style. In 1990, HCB expanded, entering the saltwater market with a range of center console fishing boats. The vessels quickly began to outpace sportfish inboards in offshore fishing tournaments, distinguishing themselves with their fishability, speed, and exceptional performance.
Today, HCB Yachts continues to develop and refine Reese’s vision in new and exciting ways: having spotted a gap in the market between sportfishing and center console segments, CEO Elias De La Torre III announced in 2018 that HCB would release an entirely new and unprecedented range of yachts: the center console sportfishing yacht. These world-class models set a new standard for the marine industry, combining the comfort, superior performance, and ease-of-use of center console yachts with the size, customizability, and sophistication of sportfishing yachts.
HCB offers this ground-breaking hybrid in 5 stunning production models that are fully customizable: the 39-foot Speciale, the 42-foot Lujo, the 53-foot Sueños, and the colossal 65-foot Estrella – the largest center console yacht in the world.
HCB MODELS
HCB 65’ Estrella
Launched in 2019, the 65’ Estrella is big, bold, and powerful – the largest center console yacht on the market, as long as two telephone poles lined up side by side. But don’t let it’s imposing size – sure to impress in dock – intimidate you: the Estrella rides smoother than silk with 5 Seven Marine outboard engines perched on the transom, giving the Estrella 3,135 horsepower, unprecedented for a center console yacht. At 46,000 pounds, this vessel makes short work of the waves. The ZF joystick is responsive, enabling the yacht to effortlessly maneuver tight turns.
The fishing and living spaces are no less impressive. Designed for the consummate fisherman, there are numerous rodholders located on the shotgun, gunwale and hardtop – perfect for grabbing a rod at a moment’s notice. A pair of 80-gallon livewells are mounted on the transom. The decking is of the finest teak, so polished that light gleams and glints off the surface like a wooden mirror. But the Estrella is a tough beauty, built for withstanding the blood and guts of the fiercest blue marlin, mahimahi, or bluefin tuna.
The center console features an outdoor dining area that seats up to 10 people, sheltered by a rectangular hardtop round at the edges. Everything about this yacht is smooth. A teak mezzanine step doubles as a seating bench and refrigerated storage for tackle boxes. Further under-floor boxes come with freezer plates to preserve your catch.
The play of light and dark surfaces – white exterior with rich teak decking – continues in the interior. Reflective, deep, bright woodwork contrasts with white accents to create a pitch-perfect coastal aesthetic, a sophisticated mix of minimalism and opulence. This is evident throughout the impeccable galley kitchen/salon with wraparound dining seating, above which is a pull-out berth.
The yacht makes the most of its generous space, sleeping up to five people with a large master stateroom, convertible settee, and a bathroom worthy of a luxury hotel: natural wood flooring, marble walls and a rainshower showerhead. An unsurpassed pioneer of the market, the Estrella is the ultimate luxury center console fishing yacht. Don’t let it pass you by.
HCB 53’ Sueños
The 53-foot Sueños – Spanish for ‘dreams’ – is a center console and fishing machine that lives up to its name. Though not as huge as its sister, the 65’ Estrella, the 53’ Sueños is still large and in charge, beating other center consoles out of the water. Perfect for sportfishing and entertaining, the Sueños is capable of fulfilling the fantasies of fisherman and leisure-makers alike. With 2 livewells at 60 gallons each, there is plenty of room to store your bait. There is plenty of room to bring guests aboard for a daytrip or entertaining while at anchor. The bow is equipped with generous seating around a table, perfect for a quiet dinner or a lively conversation, and a second set of seating lies behind 3 helm seats.
With superior hydrodynamics combined with engine options over 2,200 horsepower, the Sueños is built for performance and precision. Beneath the console lies a remarkably generation cabin with air conditioning throughout and a separate head with a shower and a queen-size berth to provide maximum comfort. Whether you’re speeding along the Great Lakes or cruising the Caribbean, this dreamy yacht is a must-have.
HCB 42’ Lujo
The newly debuted 42-foot Lujo outshines every other yacht of its size: not only does it have the largest cabin in the 42-foot category, it is also the only quad-powered yacht in its class. A newly designed hull provides a slick but soft ride capable of longer ranges with an optional extra fuel capacity. Perfect for angling, diving, and cruising, the Lujo has three main helm seats and integrated risers, a hardtop with rodholders, dual livewell capacity of 90 gallons, and a luxurious wetbar behind the helm and a bow table. An outdoor cockpit shower adds further luxury to this brawny beauty. The cabin galley includes a refrigerator, seat back storage, and a gorgeous cabin galley with gleaming wood fittings and white leather seating. And with 1,700 horsepower with quad 425 Yamaha engines, the Lujo packs a punch.
