Founded by Pietro Baglietto in 1854 in Varazze, Italy, a town on the Ligurian coast, Baglietto Yachts is the fourth oldest yacht company in the world. While Baglietto got his start building small fishing boats, it was only 30 years before he became one of the foremost builders of regatta-winning racing boats. In 1888, even the Pope had commissioned a boat from Baglietto. By the end of the century, Baglietto added motorboats to his portfolio, and in 1906 launched the 74-foot explosive engine-powered Giuseppina, the most ground-breaking yacht ever built in Italy. That same year, the shipyard developed the first hydrofoil boat in the world. In the 1970s, Baglietto launched the 147-foot Al Fahedi, generally considered the company’s first superyacht – a tradition it continues to this day. Baglietto’s shipyard is equipped with three warehouses and 2 docks for longer yachts, which allows them to release 3-4 vessels each year. Baglietto specializes in aluminum alloy yachts, which means that each vessel is truly unique: rather than using molds, as with fiberglass, Baglietto carves their boats.
MORE ABOUT BAGLIETTO YACHTS
With clients ranging from Giacomo Puccini to Roberto Cavalli, Baglietto has long appealed to artists, musicians, and designers, building it a reputation as the thinking man’s shipyard. Acquired by the Gavio family in 2012, Baglietto continues to be a pioneer in the industry, producing innovative yachts with assertive, sleek lines, often in close collaboration with master luxury yacht designer Francesco Paszkowski. Baglietto’s dedication to form and beauty was recognized in 2018 at the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards when the shipyard ranked as a finalist for Best Exterior Styling for Motor Yachts 45m and Above. And in 2019, Baglietto’s colossal Severin°s, a 180-foot motor yacht, conquered the World Yacht Trophies in Cannes, France when it was awarded the prize for Most Advanced Yacht.
Baglietto offers world-class, stylish superyachts and charter yachts with state-of-the-art technology honed from their experience in the military sector, where they produced anti-submarine motorboats for the Italian Navy. Baglietto specializes in aluminum and steel luxury yachts designed at their own in-house departments in their expansive, state-of-the-art facilities. Baglietto has responded to the dynamic international yacht market by increasing space aboard its vessels and equipping them with the finest amenities and finishes. For example, the 157-foot T-Line Silver Fox, launched in Miami in 2019, boasts over 3,700 square feet of interior space, a 1,500 squar-foot sundeck and today’s latest must-have luxury, an infinity pool. Baglietto’s yachts are stunningly beautiful, technologically advanced, and eminently liveable.

Baglietto 50m V-Line
Just one of a suite of three commissions designed in 2018 in collaboration with the designer Santa Maria Magnolfi, this refined but sporty 164-foot aluminum superyacht breathed new life into the semi-displacement yacht market. A perfect blend of vintage 1980s Baglietto and 21st century futurism, this yacht has a graceful, tapered bow with clean, dynamic lines along the hull and upper deck. The superstructure is framed in tinted glass that offers ample views of the water while preserving a little mystique for any onlookers.
The 50m V-Line offers exceptional internal space: it can accommodate 12 guests in six double cabins, with a 650-square-foot master suite complete with a generous and separate office with outdoor access. Outside, the upper deck boasts a roomy saloon that leads to an outdoor space with an overhang and a spacious sundeck, perfect for hot summer nights. With twin MTU 12V4000 engines, the 50m V-Line is faster than most semi-displacement yachts, reaching a top speed of 20 knots, an 18-knot max cruising speed, and a maximum range of up to 4,000nm.
Baglietto ‘Pure Insanity’
If you’re tired of the gleaming pearlescent finishes and restrained aesthetic of traditional luxury yachts, then Baglietto’s ‘Pure Insanity’ is for you. With a moody, dark metallic exterior, this planing motor yacht will appeal to anyone looking for If this were a car, James Bond (or perhaps a Bond villain) would drive it. But while this yacht looks tough on the outside, its sleek, minimalist interior has a softer side: it’s also generous and hospitable, accommodating up to eight guests with a full beam master suite, VIP suite, and two convertible twin-to-double cabins. Twin diesel 12V 4000 M90 engines allow ‘Pure Insanity’ to reach up to 33 knots.
Baglietto ‘Ridoc’
Launched in 2017, Baglietto’s ‘Ridoc,’ an aluminum alloy 64-foot designed by Francesco Paszkowski in homage to the shipyard’s naval history is an aggressive metallic coal grey that emphasizes the yacht’s robust symmetry. Using the latest electronic and propulsion technologies, the ‘Ridoc’ is far more modern than the boats that inspired it – what WWII-era torpedo boat had a satellite TV? As with ‘Pure Insanity’, the imposing exterior of the ‘Ridoc’ gives way to a sumptuous interior that prioritizes comfort and warmth, with light lacquered walls and deep Canaletto walnut. Behind the helm there’s a dinette and wet bar sheltering under an unobtrusive hardtop – perfect for al fresco dining come rain or shine. The outdoor furniture is red, contrasting nicely with the dark exterior and rich wood decking. Though the ‘Ridoc’ sleeps four guests, the dinette in the saloon seats up to eight people, making it perfect for entertaining in dock or while day-tripping. The master cabin is plush and comfortable, with built-in shelves, solid portholes and secure, thick doors. The two guest cabins - one with twin beds and a berth, one with a single bed and a berth. Sun beds are located on the stern and the bow, providing maximum lounging potential. The ‘Ridoc’ is equipped with 2 MAN V12-1800 engines that boast a maximum of 42 knots, a 30-knot max cruise speed and a range of 300nm.
