Viking Yachts 74 Enclosed Bridge

SUMMARY

The all-new Viking 74 Enclosed Bridge is the blue-water battlewagon with year-round comfort that you've been waiting for. Viking’s second-generation 74 platform has already made waves for its speed and fishability. Now the 74 Enclosed Bridge - “74EB” - layers on climate-controlled comfort and a second salon without sacrificing the DNA that makes Viking Yachts the ultimate sportfish. Hull No. 1 of the 74 Convertible platform premiered at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, underscoring the yard’s vertically integrated, build-it-in-house ethos and aggressive development cadence. There simply is no greating luxury sportfishing yacht than the ones built in New Gretna, New Jersey.

The 74EB replaces the open flybridge with a fully enclosed, air-conditioned command center that doubles as a second salon. Forward, a single-piece windshield and helm deliver excellent sightlines and weather protection; inside, an internal staircase links the bridge to the main salon. Outside, the aft bridge deck incorporates a docking station and lounge so the skipper can handle lines or back down in comfort. For owners who want it all, Viking also offers a Sky Bridge perched above the EB - a fully equipped helm with 360-degree views for those perfect, open-air days.

POWER BEHIND THE 74EB

Under the house, the 74EB rides the same new-generation 74 hull introduced with the Convertible. Viking’s team used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to refine lift and spray control via aggressive strakes and chines, tuned the length-to-beam ratio for ride quality, and engineered for efficiency. On the 74 Convertible, the package delivers 45-plus-knot top-end with the 2,600-class MTUs - an indicator of what this hull can do depending on final EB power and options. Viking also offers its Advanced Viking Propulsion System (AVPS)-modified struts and rudders that reduce hydrodynamic resistance - for added performance. (As always, final EB speeds will vary by engine, load, and sea state.)

While Viking has not yet posted the official EB engine lineup, the 74 Convertible, which shares the EB’s hull and options - offers packages from MAN V12 1550 MHP through MTU 16V2000 M96L 2,635 MHP, with CAT C32B options in between. Expect the EB to mirror these choices as availability is finalized; check with your dealer for confirmed EB power.

TOURNAMENT READY COCKPIT

Fishability on the 74 platform is serious. The cockpit spans 216 sq ft, with twin in-deck insulated fish boxes, a portside walkthrough door with lift gate, and a raised transom livewell offered in 101- or 122-gallon capacities. Seakeeper 26 or 40 gyros are available beneath a centerline hatch, and the mezzanine is laid out for long days offshore. Because the EB shares cockpit and accommodation geometry with the 74 Convertible, crews get the same proven work space and flow

LUXURY INTERIOR FOR COMFORTABLE TRAVEL

Below, the standard arrangement is four staterooms—each with an en-suite head—plus a dedicated rod & tackle room forward. A fifth stateroom can replace the tackle room if maximum berths are the priority (up to 11 sleepers with the optional forward crossover). Crew quarters have dual access from the companionway or forward engine-room door. In the salon and galley, owners can spec an open-island galley or U-shaped layout; expect Viking’s signature joinery, Sub-Zero under-counter refrigeration, and Miele cooking appliances.

BUILD & SYSTEMS ON THE 74EB

The 74 platform is resin-infused (hull, tanks, bulkheads) for optimal strength-to-weight, with selective carbon fiber, Light Resin Transfer Molding, and a modified vinylester/epoxy resin system for blister resistance. The engine room is Snow White Awlgrip finished and designed for clean service access, with twin 29-kW generators, provisions for omnidirectional sonar, Viking’s centralized seawater system with SeaStrong seal-less pumps, and the optional CLEARLINE system to inhibit marine growth. Viking’s subsidiaries (Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers) enable true turnkey outfitting from the factory.
