With every new Viking model built, there are normally several adaptations that follow. Such is the case with the 44 Convertible that originally came out in 2018 and has been a popular entry-level sportfish for the American builder. The 44 Open, which shares the same hull as the 44C, has much different deck and interior arrangements that are designed for its specific segment of the market. The 44 Sport Coupe continues the 44-foot model range with a distinguishing New England-style appeal, while the new 44 Sport Tower is geared towards sailfish anglers and island-cruising. The tuna tower on the 44ST, outfitted by Palm Beach Towers, along with the outriggers, makes this an instant tournament contender for the new owner.

"Using our $1 million five-axis profiler, we designed and built a plug and a female mold to create a rakish fiberglass deckhouse module, fully open to the cockpit while incorporating stylish convertible window lines and a roof overhang. Built into finely tool hardtop is a pair of easily accessed rod stowage compartments," says the Viking shipyard about the 44ST.

The command deck on the 44 Sport Tower offers exceptional sightlines for the captain, thanks to the centerline helm station that sits on a raised platform. The visibility the captain has in this design is excellent. Three Release Marine helm seats sit behind the controls. The electronics package is customized to the owner's preference and can be installed by Atlantic Marine Electronics - Viking's subsidiary company.
The beautiful salon takes full advantage of the 44 Sport Tower's more than 16-foot beam with seating, a galley, storage, and lots of room to move around. The reverse-cycle air-conditioning keeps the interior cool while you and your guests can enjoy the flat screen television or surround-sound stereo. The galley features all of the top-quality appliances needed to feed a hungry crew. Custom Amtico flooring, Corian countertops, and beautiful wood cabinetry provide a cruising yacht experience on this versatile sportfish.
The Viking 44ST is a two-stateroom boat with a full head and shower that is shared between the cabins. The master suite is forward and features an island queen-sized berth with a mattress that lifts up to reveal storage underneath. There is teak cabinetry, a flat screen television, opening hatch for ventilation, and a maple-lined hanging locker. The guest cabin is found aft and portside, featuring a double berth. It also has a flat screen television, maple-lined hanging locker, and beautiful teak cabinets.
While the base model of the 44 Sport Tower features MAN I6 800MHP engines, owners have an option of upgrading to either MAN 850MHPs or twin Volvo D-13 1000MHP engines. Your equipment on board will be powered by an Onan 12.5kW EQD (Electronic Quiet Diesel) generator. The base price of the Viking 44 Sport Tower is just over $1.7 million, which does not include the cost of the tuna tower.
