Scout 670 LXS

SUMMARY

The Scout 670 LXS is a 66-foot outboard-powered center-console power yacht that is set to be launched by the lauded South Carolina firm Scout Boats in 2024. Not only the most ambitious Scout launch to date, this sleek watercraft is by some estimations the largest yacht of its kind ever built. Clean lines, plenty of verve, graceful curves and an assertive, modern profile combine with a sensuously flared bow, sloping lines to transom and rapier-sharp aesthetics to make this beauty a real trend-setter. Crafted in collaboration with superyacht designers Harrison Eidsgaard, the 670 LXS boasts the sort of luxury finish, powerful propulsion and hi-tech interventions that look set to change the center-console world forever.

Modular seating space with a distinctly contemporary vibe defines the sprawling foredeck, where lavish dimensions allow guests to relax, unwind and soak up the views. There’s a broad sunpad for three or four sun-worshippers that is surrounded by discreet grab-rails, along with a U-shaped sofa with padded cushions that hugs a Hi-Lo timber breakfast table.

An unexpected addition to the teak-lined cockpit is a pair of fold-out bulwarks that transform into floating terraces to boost the dimensions out here, a true rarity on a boat of this class. A mezzanine sofa and a transom sofa face each other at each end of the cockpit, with room for a table in between. Facilities back here are set to include a bar, an outdoor grill, a sink and even rod holders and livewell storage, with integrated cup-holders and speakers peppered throughout. There’s also access out to the stern-side platform for deep dives into the pristine salt-water and epic swimming adventures. A sheltered upper cockpit, meanwhile, includes a large sofa and another table for outdoor dining with a bit of shade.

Step into the modern main-deck salon to discover 360-degrees of dynamic mullioned glazing and a chunky optional overhead skylight for masses of natural light. Pale timber surrounds play off against minimalist design touches and pale upholstery for a restrained and cool vibe. There’s a U-shaped sofa and a coffee table to starboard, while a fully stocked open galley sits to port. Up front there’s two helm seats and a pair of companion seats facing a cutting-edge helm station set to feature the very latest in navigational tech, including up to four oversized MFD touch-screens and joystick handling.

Of course, a yacht of this size could never just be a day-boating affair. Down on the sophisticated lower-deck there’s room for a lower-lounge with a double-width sofa and a wall-mounted HDTV. Elsewhere you will find two amidship cabins, one with a double bed and another with a pair of twin beds, that both feature generous locker storage. To port there’s a main-head with a shower unit, while occupying the space by the bow is a master stateroom with a double bed, a full-height locker and separate en-suite head and shower rooms.

Powered by five 600HP Mercury V12 Verado outboard engines, you will exceed 52 knots when driving this yacht at full-throttle. Keep going at a 35-knot cruising speed to enjoy a 434 nautical mile range thanks to a 1,500-gallon fuel capacity and an efficient hull crafted from carbon fiber and resin-infused epoxy. A 37-inch draft to this hull and shallow outboards enable owners of this yacht to draw up close to those hard-to-find beaches and coves without worrying about structural damage.
