The Scout 425 LXF is a 42-foot luxury center-console yacht that was launched by renowned South Carolina-based yacht-building firm Scout Boats in 2021. This stylish watercraft boasts the sort of sleek lines, tumblehome profile and flared bow entry that are just built for speed, while cutting-edge fishing utilities give this vessel a competitive edge. The generous proportions of the broad foredeck practically invite hours of comfortable lounging with nothing to separate you from the sun. A forward-facing day-bed with backrests gets the best of the views, but a U-shaped padded sofa tracing the curves of the bow impresses with under-seat storage and a flip-up cocktail table for evening drinks.
Head into the vast aft-cockpit to find a space that can be used for both fishing and entertaining. Back here’s there a wet-bar station with a grill, an ice-box and two pull-out bar-stools that sit under an extending Sunshade, while an optional transom sofa provides the perfect place to enjoy afternoon aperitifs. Fishing amenities include articulating rocket launchers, two 40-gallon transom livewells with glazed lids, a pair of 92-gallon in-sole fish-boxes, flush rod holders, wash-down hoses, padded coamings throughout and a side lift-gate. There’s also a transom door that leads out to a rear teak-lined platform from where your swimming adventures will begin.
Two rows of heated helm seats that can be utilized as leaning posts sit under a floating T-top and behind three panes of glass for a comfortable and dry ride as you man the controls. The glass dashboard frames a selection of Garmin touch-screen devices, joystick handling, an Edson steering wheel, hand-held VHF, a mounted compass, an optional Seakeeper 5 stabilizer switch, Lumishore lighting buttons, Zipwake trim control and a Fusion stereo system linked to the boat’s integrated speakers.
A capacious lower-deck lined in pale timber and creme-toned leather with atmospheric strip lighting throughout, slide-open windows and mirrored panels welcomes guests with its mix of style and space. Down here you can expect an open galley with a fridge, a sink, a single-zone stovetop and an oven, while a U-shaped sofa that can be turned into an overnight bed offers the chance to recharge your batteries. A main-head on this level features chevron-tile surrounds, Corian counters, a ceramic bowl sink, a flush toilet and a dedicated shower stall.
Top of the range engine options include a triple set of 600HP Mercury Verado V12 motors for top speeds of around 63 knots, or four 450HP Mercury Verado outboards for full-throttle speeds of up to 67 knots. A 500-gallon fuel tank and a proprietary Scout Stepped hull design delivers plenty of fuel-efficiency at competitive cruising speeds of around 36 knots as you make your way to fish-rich waters.
