Scout 400 LXF

SUMMARY

The Scout 400 LXF is a superb 39-foot center console launched in 2024 by celebrated South Carolina builder Scout Boats. Exemplifying the luxury and precision of Scout’s exclusive S-Class fleet, the 400 LXF is constructed with advance epoxy infused E-glass. This high-tech method results in a stronger, stiffer vessel that is 34 percent lighter than a traditional chopper gun construction.

At the stern, a modest but walkable platform provides access to the starboard transom door and on to the spacious aft cockpit. To port, a huge cutout beach-deck rolls out at the push of a button, providing the perfect stage for a day out on the water. This versatile space can serve as a fish-hunting arena, a sociable seating area, or the center of a barbecue cookout. Two aquarium-style livewells sit on either side of the comfortable built-in aft settee, which features under-seat storage, while an optional convertible leaning post easily transforms into a luxe raised lounge seat with aft-facing views of the water.

The 400 LXF is a discreet but serious fishing machine with details that anglers will appreciate, such as twin 92-gallon fishboxes to port and starboard, under-gunwale rod storage, five transom rod-holders, and two rod-holders in the gunwales that are perfect for trawling. Optional hardtop rocket launchers and a SureShade sunshade are upgrade options for this area. Outriggers can also be added to the hardtop.

The helm is as sleek and comfortable as a sports car, with three heated captain’s helm seats with exceptional visibility from the protective windshield. Electronics include two Garmin 8616 multi-function displays (if desired, users can add a third screen). Further forward, side-deck handrails safely lead the way to the bow, where a lounger with contoured seating for two offers plenty of space to relax.

Armrests and cupholders add to the comfort, while built-in storage is just one of several discreet places to put your belongings. Even more spacious seating can be found further forward, where molded-in settee curves the contours of the bow itself. At the touch of a button, an electronically-actuated dining table rises to transform the lounge space into an al-fresco dinner party.

Accessed via a sturdy portside side-deck hatch door, the below-deck cabin is a restful, bright, air-conditioned space full of natural light thanks to two large windows to port and starboard. A mini-galley and an enclosed shower and head area provide all the comforts of home in a stylish, low-profile package. A stunning U-shaped settee can be found forward, accompanied by a chic electric dining table. When not in use, the seating easily converts into a queen berth for an overnight stay or a long weekend.

Scout offers a range of power options on this model, but four Mercury 400 V10 outboards can reach over 71MPH, with an ideal cruising speed of 34.5MPH. A standard Seakeeper is one of the many outstanding standard options on this boat, guaranteeing a smooth, confident ride.
