The Scout 260 LXF is a 26-foot center console model first unveiled by legendary center console builder Scout Boats in 2023. A stunning combination of form and function, this boat (which replaces the popular 255 LXF) offers exceptional fishability and impressive standard amenities, such as a Seakeeper Ride Attitude Control system for a silky-smooth ride and a dedicated head that will extend your time out on the water. Ideal for newcomers and angling veterans alike, the 260 is the perfect choice for those seeking a compact, head-turning, high-performance fishing boat.
This model boasts a fully-walkable transom swim platform and a walk-through transom door that leads to the self-bailing cockpit, a dedicated fishing arena with a beautifully-upholstered seat that can be folded away when not in use. An impressive fiberglass leaning post features a bait prep station, sink, tackle drawers, and a 45-quart YETI cooler. Other amenities include six stainless-steel flush-mounted rod holders at the transom, under-gunnel storage for two of your favorite rods, a recirculating baitwell to port, and two large fishboxes to port and starboard. Optional upgrades include hardtop mounted rocket launchers and a choice of Taco outriggers, as well as two bow flush mount rod holders.
Skippers will delight at the helm seats, which feature flip-down bolsters and arm rests to suit their preferred piloting style. The navigation equipment is equally delightful, offering as standard a Garmin 943 XSV display with a GT12M transducer, a 13.5-inch finger grip wheel with power knob, Sea Star hydraulic steering, a dual battery switch with remote, a compass, Fusion Bluetooth stereo with six 7.7-inch JL speakers throughout, as well as an anchor camera at the bow, which offers full visibility when maneuvering in and out of tight spots. An integrated fiberglass T-top with a fully-enclosed windshield protects users from the wind and spray, offering great all-round visibility.
Outside the helm, a door in the console leads to a well-appointed porcelain head. Further forward, the spacious bow features contoured U-shaped seating and a wide, forward-facing console seat with hidden storage throughout. An optional removable teak table can transform this space into an al fresco dining area, while standard removable headrests allow users to kick back, stretch out, and admire the water.
Scout offers multiple Mercury engine packages on this model. A standard pair of Mercury 200s cruise best at 31MPH and max out at 53.4MPH, while optional twin 350 Verado V-10s can reach top speeds of 52.3MPH but offer an energy efficient cruising speed of 32.8MPH at 13 gallons per hour. Even more fuel efficient are dual 400 Verado V-10s, which boasts a 33.4 cruise speed at just 12.7 gallons per hour, reaching 57.7MPH at full tilt.
