The Scout 215 XSF is a revolutionary 21.5-foot center console from iconic builder Scout Boats first launched in 2016. Perfect for newbies and seasoned hands alike, the 215 XSF is a boat you can grow with thanks to Scout’s dedication to quality and finish from production – the brand hand-lays its boats in fiberglass – to delivery – owners can choose from a range of semi-custom options to adapt the boat to their unique needs.
Despite its small size, this boat still features a folding stainless-steel three-step swim ladder and two swim platforms to port and starboard. A transom door leads the way into the self-bailing cockpit, which boasts a large optional fold-down transom seat with a standard aerated baitwell to port. Anglers can fix 4 of their favorite rods in the flush-mounted rod holders at the stern, and store them in under-gunnel storage when not in use. Stainless-steel grabrails allow safe movement throughout the boat. A superb standard leaning post with independently-actuated fold-down bolsters and a 72-quart Igloo Cooler (or optional sliding YETI cooler) takes center stage here. Choose between a Bimini top or a powder-coated T-top hardtop with an integrated windshield.
At the helm, skippers will enjoy features such as a standard Fusion Bluetooth Stereo system, a stainless-steel steering wheel with knob, digital gauges, compass, BayStar hydraulic steering, and space for a range of Garmin display options as well as an optional GT12M transducer, VHF 215 radio and Sionyx Nightwave camera. Owners can also opt for a JL Audio speaker upgrade, a SeaStar hydraulic steering upgrade, and Dometic XPA electric steering (not available for Yamaha F150 or F200 engine options). To port, a hatch in the console leads to step-down storage with breaker-panel and battery switch access, in addition to an optional Porta Potti.
Like Scout’s larger models, the 215 XSF offers a comfortably convivial seating arrangement at the bow. Plush seating is contoured to the bow’s curves, with 2 under-cushion storage to port and starboard. Providing plenty of real estate for sunbathing, this boat’s luxurious forward-facing console lounge lifts up to reveal a spacious coffin box with an optional pump-out.
Powered by a single Yamaha F150, the 215 XSF can reach a zippy top speed of 45MPH, although a more moderate 22.2MPH cruising speed offers great fuel efficiency, eating up a mere 5.5 gallons per hour from the boat’s 82-gallon fuel capacity. Other engine options include a Yamaha F200, Mercury 150, or a Mercury 200.
