The Prestige 420S is the new coupe', express yacht version of the 420 Flybridge that is also debuting in the 2020 model year. While the official photography for the 420S has not yet been released, we can see from the renderings that it will features some very sport lines that extend from the flare of the bow through the shape of the hull side windows to the curve of the hardtop. Prestige describes the 420S as having a "chic, sporty atmosphere" that "combines elegance and sporty lines", a hallmark of their S-series coupes.
Powered with twin Cummins QSB 6.7 380HP engines with v-drive propulsion, the 420S is expected to have a cruising speed of 23 knots, with a top end speed of 32 knots. There will be options to upgrade from the standard package to twin 425HP engines, with or without the joystick. The cruising speed range will be 210 nautical miles. Stay tuned to our Prestige Yachts blog for the latest updates on the 420S as they come available.
The most glaring detail of the Prestige 420S from the exterior is all of the windows. Large windows are placed in the side of the hull just above the waterline, but maintain their flow with the lines of the yacht. The main deck house appears to be nothing but windows, with the exception of the stylish hardtop.
The aft cockpit will feature a large L-shaped couch with teak table for dining al fresco. Below the cockpit couch is a tender garage accessed from the hydraulic swim platform that can stow all diving gear, fenders, water toys, or extra provisions for overnight cruising. Lower the hydraulic swim platform a foot into the water for easy launching with scuba gear. Prestige prides themselves on creating sexy, yet functional yachts that can be enjoyed and lived on.
The layout rendering of the main deck shows us that when the large aft doors are opened, the Prestige 420S turns into a floating platform of fun. The galley is placed aft inside, making it easy to service both the format dining area inside as well as anyone wanting to dine in the cockpit. Seating is not a problem on the 420S as the starboard-side couch can seat three while the portside U-shaped couch looks to seat another 5-6 people comfortably around the dining table. Finally the inside helm and seat are placed in the traditional forward starboard area.
The Prestige 420S excels with its outdoor amenities, but it also shines indoors as well. Your yacht can be ordered in a variety of accommodations and appointments. All layouts include 2 staterooms, but owners have the option to choose between one or two heads as well as the wood type (Moabi, Grey Oak, or Wenge).
The master stateroom is placed midship with a large, queen-sized berth. There is a beauty area starboard along with multiple storage spaces, windows, and ventilation portholes. In the standard layout, a head is shared between the master suite and the VIP stateroom that's placed forward in the bow.
