The new Prestige 420 Flybridge is a sporty, but functional cruiser for the owner who wants a yacht for private, romantic trips or to entertain a handful of guests for the day. Looking at the layout of the 420 Fly, it very closely resembles everything that the 590 Flybridge offers, except in a smaller frame with a bit less space. Every feature a flybridge owner wants - a spacious bridge for entertaining, a nice bow lounge for sunbathing, comfortable accommodations, outdoor dining options, etc. - has all been intelligently incorporated into a 42-foot sport yacht.
The Prestige 420 Fly is powered with twin Cummins 6.7 380 CV/HP V-drive propulsion. With a cruising speed of 22 knots, the v-drive propulsion centralizes the weight of the engines for better balance as well as increases performance. Owners have the option of upgrading to 425HP engines. A joystick and variable bow thrusters help the captain guide the 420 Fly with precision and ease, especially while docking.
Social and Entertainment Areas
Beginning aft, the Prestige 420 has a teak, hydraulic swim platform that can either be used as a scuba or snorkeling launching space, a water-side sunbathing spot, or assist with boarding from a tender. There is a transom garage that opens to reveal deep storage for diving gear or water toys.
Up just a handful of stairs is the aft cockpit space. The U-shaped couch and table are large enough to allow 4-5 people to dine outdoors and enjoy the view. The table can lower and the cushions re-positioned to make this an additional lounge space.
On the port side of the cockpit, there is a staircase leading to the flybridge. As you ascend the stairs, the upper helm is directly in front. This features a single captain's chair, the optional joystick, and all of the Raymarine electronics. This includes a monitoring engine room camera, transom day/night vision, Raymarine Radar Magnum Open Array and Quantum 2 Doppler, and displays. A large sunpad big enough for 2-3 people is adjacent to the upper helm. Starboard side aft is a right-angled couch nestled into the corner of the bridge along with a table. There is a small outdoor galley for preparing a light meal right from the flybridge.
As with all Prestige Yachts, the bow area on board has not been forgotten. Forward on the bow is a comfortable 3-person lounge directly in front of the windshield. Each lounge cushion has the ability to raise up and be adjusted to a sitting position. This is an excellent sunbathing area or a great place to enjoy the view while cruising.
The Prestige 420 also has the option to come with either a bimini top or a hardtop.
Spacious and Thoughtful Accommodations
The Prestige 420 Flybridge excels with its outdoor amenities, but it also shines indoors as well. Your yacht can be ordered in a variety of accommodations and appointments. All layouts include 2 staterooms, but owners have the option to choose between one or two heads as well as the wood type (Moabi, Grey Oak, or Wenge).
The master stateroom is placed midship with a large, queen-sized berth. There is a beauty area starboard along with multiple storage spaces, windows, and ventiliation portholes. In the standard layout, a head is shared between the master suite and the VIP stateroom that's placed forward in the bow.
On the main deck, the salon and galley feel like separate rooms thanks for a small step up as well as a partial divider. The galley is placed aft making it easy to prepare a meal and serve guetst on the aft deck. There is a U-shaped couch and table in the staboard side formal dining area that can easily fit 5 people. Portside directly across from the dining area is the indoor help which features all of the controls needed to operate the 420 flybridge, including an additional Raymarine 12" display.
The abundance of seating and the large windows that line both sides of the 420 fly create a wonderful ambiance for socializing while enjoying the view from the climate-controlled interior. Whether escaping the sun momentarily or enjoying the sunset as you dine on hors d'oeuvres, the salon, galley, and helm are a delight.
