Absolute's signature Italian style is hard to miss on the 47 Fly as the massive windows make the flybridge appear to be suspended in mid-air. As with all of their models, Absolute does a phenomenal job creating intelligently designed living spaces in each of its outdoor areas.
Bow Lounge: While most yacht builders throw down a few sunpads and call it a day, the Absolute 47 features a wonderful social area for sunbathing, dining, or enjoying the view while at a slow cruise. An optional canopy can be easily inserted into four spaces that provides shade and comfort while at anchor. A U-shaped sofa has the ability to convert into normal seating or a 3-4 person sunpad. An adjustable pedastal table can be brought up to create another outdoor dining space.
Cockpit Area: Absolute has once again found subtle ways of enhancing ordinary spaces on a boat. The 47 flybridge aft cockpit features a couch with large table that can seat 4-5 with chairs. While the flybridge over hand does offer shade, the cockpit is often hit with the late afternoon sun which can be uncomfortable. The Absolute 47 features a retractable sun shade that pulls down behind the cockpit couch. Additionally, there is a glass window on the port wide of the salon sliding doors that opens and connects the cockpit with the galley for serving drinks and food with ease.
Flybridge: Always a favorite place on any Absolute, the flybridge on the 47 is designed so well your guests may never want to leave. The helm is placed starboard and has all of the electronics needed including a joystick. Adjacent to the helm is a large 3-person sunpad with adjustable back rests. Separating this area from the back of the bridge on the starboard side is a wet bar and bbq grill. Aft on the flybridge is a U-shaped couch and large table for dining with panoramic views.
Absolute uses the very best materials possible to create a luxurious, yet comfortable feeling in the interior living spaces. The light colors, large windows, and abundance of space might feel European in style, but the usability of the 47 Flybridge is exactly what the American market has asked for.
With an aft galley that includes full-size appliances, plenty of storage, and counter space, cooking and serving multiple guests in either the cockpit or the dining area is convenient. A retractable television is hidden behind the sofa on the starboard side and can be stored away with the press of a button. A U-shaped couch and table make up the dining area which is almost directly across from the inside helm and can seat up to 8 guests. You can open windows next to the dining table and directly across near the helm to create a nice cross-breeze while enjoying your meal.
Layout: The Absolute 47 Flybridge has a three stateroom and two head layout with the spacious master cabin placed portside and midship. It features an en suite head, windows on both sides, a large porthole for ventilation, and a beautiful walk-in closet. Sliding doors are used throughout to maximize space.
The VIP stateroom is placed in the bow and also has storage options in a large walk-in closet as well as several drawers. There is a large side window as well as a porthole to let fresh air and light inside. the third guest stateroom features side-by-side twin bunks and high ceilings.
The Absolute 47 Flybridge is an excellent choice for beginning yacht owners or for owners who are wishing to move down from a larger yacht. The 47 Fly is efficient, comfortable, and has the amenities on board for cruising. There is an optional wide, hard top that offers excellent protection and livability on the flybridge.
