Many Vikings are outfitted with tuna towers produced by our sister company Palm Beach Towers. Tuna towers are not only great vantage points from which to watch the baits in the wash, spot fish or help navigate through skinny waters, but they also add tremendous versatility and style to a Viking Open or Convertible yacht. Each PBT tuna tower is custom designed to the yacht owner’s specific needs, but every one shares commonalities of form and function.
|
|
Tuna towers have come a long way from the early days when there was little more than a standing platform above the flying bridge. A modern tower will utilize space efficiently for the crew to do their job effectively with unfettered visibility and ample access to navigation equipment to find the fish and stay on them. Equally important, vital gear is protected when not in use with secure, weather proof compartments, as aboard this 76 Convertible.
|
|
Scaled down, but no less effective features aboard a 46 Open tuna tower show similar thought and detail, including trim tab controls and a handy stowage compartment beneath the dash.

| In a league of their own, the Viking 76 Convertible and its sibling the 76 Enclosed Bridge Convertible manifest Viking’s legendary attention to detail. Both models sport a commonality of engineering and accommodation excellence, including Viking’s proprietary VIPER steering with independent programmable rudders, a hydraulic bow thruster, cockpit observation mezzanines, and eight tons of chilled water air conditioning. A fabulous five-stateroom layout includes a full beam master suite and the salon and galley are showpieces of custom teak joinery and rich appointments. |
| The Open Bridge 76 is a masterpiece designed with world-wide tournament fishing in mind. Just stepping into the 206 square-foot cockpit will get your pulse pumping and you can feel the waves of anxiety flow through the billfish community. The flying bridge provides exceptional visibility for the helmsman, and comfortable room for guests and crew, along with ample stowage and built-in refrigeration and a freezer. |
| The Enclosed Bridge reached from a hand-crafted teak staircase in the salon creates the essence of a second salon with an entertainment system, upholstered valances, refrigeration and an inviting L-shaped lounge with a custom built cocktail table. |
| We invite you to visit the 76 Convertible and 76 Enclosed Bridge Convertible during the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show, February 17-21, 2011 at Pier 9, 4800 Collins Avenue. These outstanding beauties will be joined with a stellar line up of 16 other new Viking yachts from 42 to 82 feet. |

Announced at our recent VIP Boat Show Preview in Riviera Beach, Florida last week, we are pleased to share sneak renderings of the new Viking 66 Convertible, which will premiere at the 2011 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show in October.
The 66 Convertible is the latest in an impressive line of new introductions over the past several months at Viking. For 2011 we proudly launched the 70 Convertible, the 70 Enclosed Bridge Convertible, the 42 Convertible and the 42 Open, aptly demonstrating our mettle and authority as the world’s leading manufacturer of luxurious, high-performance sportfishing convertible yachts. Sharing the sleek aggressive stance of its new generation siblings, the profile of the 66 Convertible bespeaks power, speed and grace. |

In the salon, your senses will be delighted with a spacious layout that is elegant and practical for tournament campaigns, as well as cruising for months at a time. Below, four staterooms, each with its own head and fiberglass shower stall, teem with restful space. Crews will appreciate thoughtful touches like convenient private access to their stateroom through the engine room and a centrally located laundry center in the companionway alcove.

The flying bridge features a center console command station with excellent visibility, electronic stowage and three adjustable helm seats. Jump seats are built into the port and starboard lounges and additional seating is forward of the helm.
The 174 square-foot cockpit features our innovative upper observation mezzanine with built-in freezer space, a salon step refrigerated cooler, tackle and gear stowage, and engine room access. The lower self-bailing cockpit has an oversized insulated fish box, a live well tub and a dunnage compartment with locking stainless steel hardware and gas struts on all hatches. A walk-through transom door with lift gate, flush rod holders, rounded coamings, stereo speakers, twin Glendinning Cablemasters, gaff and tag stick stowage merely scratches at the long list of standard equipment. Look for regular updates about this new model in future emails and on www.vikingyachts.com. |
