Staten Island Yacht Sales, founded in 1964 as Staten Island Boat Sales, began as a mere dream and has since expanded into one of the largest mid-size yacht dealerships in the world. Prior to the 1964 opening, its founders Phillip Bongiorno and his son Frank were selling Owens and Ulrichsen boats for Schatz Bros. in Brooklyn.
As the Verrazano Bridge was being constructed Phil and Frank, as entrepreneurs, decided to make that big leap only others dream about and go into business for themselves in Staten Island. The business began with a purchase of a trailer and a plot of land in Great Kills which is now the current site of our Staten Island location. The rest as they say is history for SI Yachts.
The one thing that drove Phillip and Frank was their burning passion to make the customer happy. They knew that if they were going to have any chance of survival, it would be done on one sale at time with each customer being given the utmost in service and support. And it worked! Over the years SI Yachts has been fortunate to have many customers come back to buy their second, third and even fourth yachts from them. Why? The answer is simple – SIYachts knows how to turn a sale into a long term relationship.
In 1973 we leased a space on Woodcleft Canal, Freeport, Long New York and in 1978 we purchased the facility. In 2007 we set up a sales office in Montauk at the Montauk Yacht club and shortly thereafter we entered into a broker alliance in Shady Oaks, Maryland.
The unparalleled and unique experience of being in business for 47 years has propelled Staten Island Yacht Sales into a highly reputable and award winning dealership, marina and service facility. Recognized as a leader in the industry, SI Yachts was honored with Boat & Motor Dealer’s “Dealer of the Year Award” in 2002. In addition, consecutively SIBS has been honored as the World’s Largest Carver Yacht and Silverton Yacht Dealer. SI Yachts has been representing Viking Yachts since 1982 and has been a top dealer for 28 years.

Equipment includes a 75-ton travel lift, state-of-the-art Bellingham Concrete slips, and a brand new bath and security tower.
